Ever wondered about the openings of your favorite anime? Or how some of your favorite anime openings affected the openings that we would also come to love? Maybe you're a huge music nerd like me and wanted to know a little bit more about a subgenre of Japanese popular music! Whatever it is you may be looking for, I really hope that this video scratches that itch. In this video I cover the music history of some the most influential and notable anime that we know and love. I talked about some of the compositional decisions that were made in some these openings, what steps anime had to take in order to get the sounds that they were looking for as well as how globalization has effectively changed the anime industry as a whole! I also talk about notable shows like Neon Genesis Evangelion, Astro Boy, The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi, and many other important anime throughout the years!
This video was a long time coming, and I am ecstatic that it's finally here! Anime music history is definitely a bit of an odd subject to cover, but it was really fun to see the evolution of anime through their openings!
As I state in the video, I am certain that there are things that I might have missed or overlooked. If there is anything that you would like to add, please feel free to leave a comment down in the comments below :)!
I hope to be making more music/anime related content in the future, so if you're interested in that, why not consider subscribing?
